Performance, Tuning and Testing
To help improve the performance of your Tungsten installation, a number of guides and tuning techniques are provided in this chapter. This may involve parameters entirely within Tungsten Cluster, {replictor_name} or changes and modifications to the parameters within the OS/Database.
Tuning related to the Tungsten Replicator functionality
Whilst in most cases, very little tuning is required within the replicator, there may be times when you need to tweak the replicator to better suit your workloads. The sections in this chapter cover the most common tuning tasks you may wish to consider.
"Tungsten Replicator Block Commit and Memory Usage" - Increasing performance of replication solutions making use of block commit.
Tuning related to the network performance
"Improving Network Performance" - Increasing performance of networking between components by tuning OS parameters.
Available in 7.2.1 and later.
In v7.2.1 a new trepctl perflog feature was added to the trepctl command. The feature adds real-time performance monitoring to track and
identify slow database operations during replication. The feature provides visibility into transaction, event, and statement execution times with configurable
thresholds for alerting. For detail on using this feature, see "The trepctl perflog Command"
