B.8. Tungsten Replicator 4.0.0 GA (17 Apr 2015)

Tungsten Replicator 4.0 is a major release which is designed to provide integration between Continuent Tungsten 4.0 and MySQL clustering support, while providing replication for MySQL, Oracle, and out to datawarehouses such as HP Vertica, Amazon Redshift and Hadoop.

Known Issues

The following issues may affect the operation of Tungsten Replicator and should be taken into account when deploying or updating to this release.

  • Installation and Deployment

    • Under certain circumstances, the rsync process can randomly fail during the installation/ deployment process when using the staging method of deployment. The error code returned by rsync may be 12 or 23.

      The error is transient and non-specific and deployment should be retried.

    • Add increased validation to the --svc-applier-block-commit-interval prompt

  • Command-line Tools

    • A new command-line tool, dsctl has been added that allows control of data sources, including resetting data sources, whether or not the Tungsten Replicator is available.

    • The trepctl clear command would not update the dynamic properties stored in memory.

  • Oracle Replication

    • When replicating from Oracle, the default settings for the replicator could introduce time shifts. The settings have been updated for upgrades from previous versions to ensure the time-handling logic is not enabled.

    • Redshift CDC applier extension for table selection

    • User management commands in MariaDB would not get replicated until the next applied event.

    • MySQL extractor fails to mark certain events associated with transaction boundaries as auto-commit.
