Tungsten Replicator 4.0 is a major release which is designed to provide integration between Continuent Tungsten 4.0 and MySQL clustering support, while providing replication for MySQL, Oracle, and out to datawarehouses such as HP Vertica, Amazon Redshift and Hadoop.
For more information on replicating data out of a cluster, see Section 4.5, “Replicating Data Out of a Cluster”.
The following issues may affect the operation of Tungsten Replicator and should be taken into account when deploying or updating to this release.
A new command-line tool, dsctl has been added that allows control of data sources, including resetting data sources, whether or not the Tungsten Replicator is available.
For more information, see Section 9.6, “The dsctl Command”.
The trepctl clear command would not update the dynamic properties stored in memory.
When replicating from Oracle, the default settings for the replicator could introduce time shifts. The settings have been updated for upgrades from previous versions to ensure the time-handling logic is not enabled.
